Lonely Senior Dog Makes a Guinea Pig Friend, and Now He Never Leaves Her Alone

S’mores, a guinea pig, is an odd closest friend for Rex, an elderly handicapped Boxer puppy. Since they first met, the two pals have been inseparable. S’mores follows Rex around in a customized basket attached to his wheelchair wherever he goes.

Rex has degenerative myelopathy (DM) and was on the verge of being euthanized when he was rescued by a rescue group. He eventually found a home with Holly Walthers, who he adored.

Holly sought for another partner for Rex when he lost one of his friends and got depressed. S’mores had been rescued from a horrible situation and need some tender loving care. When Holly brought S’mores home, the guinea pig immediately recognized Rex! The two pals now snuggle at home, eat meals together, and take daily walks together.
