Dog Finishes 7th After Running Marathon By Mistake.

During the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon in Canada, runners were joined by a dog who had been let out for a potty break.

Ludivine, the cute Bloodhound, had made his getaway by crawling under the garden gate and sprinting towards the race’s start. Ludivine did well in this strange journey, finishing seventh in the race despite stopping at the two-mile mark to smell a dead rabbit.

This dog even went off the track on several occasions, like the time he went off to play with a herd of cows.

Despite crossing the road in just an hour and a half, he managed to get a wonderful time and location while still having a great time.

The official Facebook page for Elkmont’s Hound Half-Marathon uploaded photos of the cute Ludivine running the half-marathon.

Ludivine was given a medal for her efforts, something that owner, 41-year-old April Hamlin, was proud of her pet’s impressive finish.

“All I did was open the door, and she or he raced the race on her own accord,” she told Runner’s World.

“My initial reaction was one of embarrassment and concern that she had maybe gotten in the way of the other racers. “I can’t believe she ran the entire half marathon because she’s pretty lazy,” Hamlin remarked.

Jim Clemens, who finished fourth in the half marathon, said, “Every time I thought she had dropped off to go back home, I would hear her coming back up to me and she would race past me up to the two leaders. She would run off to romp through the streams and into yards to sniff around for a while.”

Well done Ludivine !
