Brave horse ‘defends’ himself from pack of wolves.

There’s probably nothing scarier than a pack of big, hungry wolves. There’s a reason this image is so often used in movies. When you see a pack of wolves snarling, your heart starts racing.

And when you see an animal in a wolf pack’s sight, you immediately get anxious for the creature.

It was a snowy day out in the wilderness, and the wolves were on the hunt for some food.
That’s when a gorgeous horse galloped into the middle of the scene. The beautiful creature began grazing on what little vegetation was left, paying no mind to the wolves that surrounded him. The men who were watching, however, were horrified.

These onlookers were certain that the horse was about to become lunch for this group of Italian wolves, and they dreaded the moment the fight would finally break out.

However, something strange happened as the horse continued to graze. Instead of attacking, the wolves watched in wonder as this intruder strolled around.

A few of the wolves backed up as the black and white horse strutted up to another patch of land.

When the horse got near the predators sleeping in the snow, even the wolf who had been under his feet ran away.

They watched and waited for the horse to get closer, figuring how to respond. As the men recorded, the horse moved closer and closer. The wolves were concerned that the horse would attack them. After all, it could kick or trample them with its hooves.

A horse, amidst the disbelief of the wolves, slowly walked into their ranks. The horse kept its nose to the ground the entire time – it only wanted food. As the onlookers’ anxiety reached its peak, the horse surprised them by doing something astonishing.

“No!” shouted the men in disbelief as the horse started to play in the snow. It turned around and sat in the middle of the pack.

The horse was rolling in the snow, kicking its feet in all directions, and enjoying itself to the fullest. Even the tail swept up snow. No one could believe that the wolves were there, and the horse didn’t care. The wolves stared at the horse as it rolled back and forth. The wolves couldn’t figure out why this creature wasn’t afraid of them. The horse clearly thought he was the leader of the pack, and he proved himself to be that leader.

He shook the snow off of his coat as he stood up. The wolf closest to him jumped as it was doused in a shower of snow.

All eyes were on the horse. The wolves stood with their ears perked up, but they realized that this great beast was no threat.

We love how fearless this horse was. And as one YouTube commenter explained, he really didn’t have much to worry about:

“Basically these guys are italian wolves, one of the smaller wolves and have nothing in their diet bigger than a deer… They’ve probably never seen or hunted a horse before and are wary and curious… So everyone just watches and checks out the passive large rolling thing and goes on with their days. Interesting and cool video!”

There was no danger to this horse, and he and the wolves were just checking each other out. Nature is truly amazing.

Fabrizio Giammatteo said he was out looking for wolves to photograph in the Acciano area when he came across a pack of six wolves resting in the sun.

Giammatteo said he started filming when he spotted a horse grazing nearby. The photographer said he nicknamed the brave horse “Orazio.”
