When a man wakes up, he discovers a stray kitten napping on his lap, and he decides to adopt her.

Ali Safa was having a lazy day at home in Canberra, Australia, when he decided to step out into the yard to enjoy the sun.
He’d fallen asleep before he realized it, and when he awoke, he wasn’t alone.

“I was asleep on our house’s balcony, and when I woke up two hours later, I found her napping on my tummy,” Ali told The Dodo. “At first, I mistook her for a rat.”

Ali had a small white kitten on her stomach, it turned out. It was purring and appeared to be content to be there. When he spotted the small kitty down there, his heart melted.

“I’ve never had a pet, and I’m a bit of a loner, so I don’t have a lot of friends.” I kept hearing the ‘purr’ sound cats make when she was sleeping, and it was the prettiest crap I had ever heard.”

Despite the fact that he had seen a lot of stray cats in his neighborhood, Ali believed this was unique and concluded that the kitten had picked him.

“It didn’t worry me if she had fleas or anything like that because I figured, ‘If she does have fleas, I probably already have fleas, so whatever.'”
The cat eventually awoke and appeared to be familiar with Ali.

“The first thing she does is get off the sofa, look me in the eyes, and begin meowing incessantly for about 20 seconds.” She’s definitely hungry, so guess who’ll be sharing my mother’s chicken wings?”

Ali brought the little kitten in for a wash, which she tolerated admirably, and it was at this point that he considered adopting her.

“In my family, there aren’t any house restrictions prohibiting dogs, and she seemed like she could use some company, so I figured, ‘Screw it, I’m keeping her.'”

He gave her the name Angel and took her to the vet; she was healthy but lacked a microchip, thus she had no owner.

Everything has changed for both of them in the last two weeks; Angel now has a forever home, and Ali now has a tiny playmate to play with.

“All I can say is that she is the most entertaining cat I have ever had the pleasure of playing with.” All she does is follow me around all day, begging for pets or to play.”

“She’d jump on my keyboard and sit between my arms as I was working on my laptop.” Picking her up and putting her on the ground isn’t going to help since she’ll just jump back up until she receives the attention she craves.”
