On St. Patrick’s Day, rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis were out and about when they came across a cute puppy in need of assistance. Even though their shelter was filled, it was raining outside, and they knew they couldn’t leave this puppy out in the storm. It’s unclear how long she’d been on the streets, but her head was covered in scars and she appeared to have had numerous litters in the past, indicating that she’d had a difficult existence.
She was most likely used for breeding before being dumped and abandoned by her owner when she was no longer needed or judged “useless.” She began wagging her tail as soon as rescuers approached her, as though pleased to finally see someone who cared about her and wanted to save her. The dog crossed the roadway without hesitation and carefully crawled through the grass to the rescuers. She let them pet her and placed her on a leash.
Once they were in the car, the dog rested her head on the rescuer’s shoulder, thanking her for saving her life.
They brought her back to their rescue, where she received a medical examination and will soon be ready to find her forever home!
