Baby Elephant Can’t Stop Following Her Rescuer After Being Saved From Death

When Moyo was just a few days old, she was saved from drowning while attempting to cross a flooding river. Her pack also abandoned her, but luckily, rangers discovered her just as a hyena pack surrounded her. Moyo was taken to the ‘Wild Is Life’ sanctuary by the hero rangers, whose creator Roxy Danckwerts became the orphan’s new mother.

Roxy’s 14-month-old daughter, Moyo, now follows mom everywhere she goes.

“She recognizes my voice, smells my scent, and somehow knows where I am at all times,” Roxy explained. “I’m not sure how!” It’s becoming more challenging as Moyo grows in size and her forays about the house become more difficult to handle.

Danckwerts said, “She is one of those animals with whom I have built an unbelievable link of friendship, trust, and love.” ” It will be difficult to let go. However, I am adamant and certain about the path I have chosen. I want the best for the elephant kids, and that means allowing them to roam freely and make their own decisions.”
Baby Moyo was found surrounded by a bunch of ravenous hyenas after being abandoned by her herd in a time of need.

Luckily, the rangers came just in time and took her to the Wild Is Life sanctuary, whose founder Roxy Danckwerts became the orphan’s new mom

Now, Moyo who is 14 months old, follows Roxy everywhere she goes, but she’s not aware of how big she has grown…

Or even how strong she is…

Or that silver spoons should not be eaten…

But, as she continues her nefarious expeditions around the house, her curiosity triumphs.

“She recognizes my voice, smells my scent, and somehow knows where I am at all times,” Danckwerts explained. Nothing will be able to stop Moyo from reaching Roxy, her human mother.

“She is one of those animals with whom I have formed an extraordinary bond of friendship, trust and love. Letting go will be hard”
