Known as Grizzly 399, she became well-known for her frequent appearances alongside roadsides with her family, prompting the creation of social media accounts in her honor.It is believed that the’super-mom’ learned to avoid males who have been known to kill young bear cubs by using busy roads.

This strategy clearly paid off for Grizzly 399, who is now the most successful documented grizzly mother of all time.

“We weren’t sure she’d have cubs again at her advanced age, let alone four, which is extremely unusual.”
