As has been stated several times, they are herd animals. It suggests that they are always drawn to other horses, particularly ones they know and like and especially those that are close to them so they can at least see them and maybe smell them.

An example of how they will go above and above for other animals is provided below. During the California wildfires, an aged horse was observed rescuing four younger from a burning barn, as shown in the video. His name is Prieta, and he hails from a ranch in Simi Valley.

The little animal that Prieta saved, Onyx, is currently enjoying a peaceful day in Southern California. When flames flared near to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Mona Lisa, the mother of Onyx, was captured on video running away; she is currently safe.
Horses may protect and stand up for one another. Some may keep an eye out for predators while others eat or look for food sources. They are extraordinarily compassionate beings. As a result, the other horses in the herd would try to rescue or protect it if one of them was in difficulty. For this reason, horses are wonderful. They are fearless, kind, and selfless.
