Alaskan State Troopers Save Two Deer From Drowning Miles From Shore.

You never know what kind of creatures you’ll find out on the water, but recently a team of Alaska state troopers found some very unexpected animals miles from the shore: two deer, struggling to stay afloat.

Thankfully, they saved the deers’ lives in a rescue caught on remarkable video.

Two deer swimming far away from shore were rescued in the nick of time. The deer were on their last legs when Alaskan State Troopers spotted the animals four miles from shore in Southeast Alaska’s Clarence Strait.

In a YouTube video shared by Alaskan State Troopers, the deer are seen swimming in the waters. The troopers figure that the deer were swimming between islands when they got into trouble.

Justin Freeman, a spokesperson for the Alaska State Troopers, told the Anchorage Daily News that the deer swam right towards the boat.

Freeman said, “Both deer ran into the side of the boat with their heads, indicating they wanted on board. The deer quickly swam over to the troopers on the swim step and let the troopers remove them from the water and place them on the back deck.”

As soon as they were onboard, the deer sat down and shivered. One deer looked in rougher shape than the other.

“This guy at the back is doing pretty rough,” one of the troopers says in the video. He points out that the other deer “is in a little bit better shape…Hopefully, they live, and we’ll go put them on the shore somewhere.”

The video switches to watching the waterlogged deer walking unsteadily on land and shaking off the water. But they head towards the woods.

“After a little while, the two deer trotted off into the trees,” a caption over the video reads. Thank goodness the troopers were in the right place at the right time to save them!

Thankfully, at the end of the video, the deer seem to be in better condition and run off into the woods together.
