Owl Can’t Stop Hugging Man Who Saved Her After Accident
|GiGi, a great horned owl who was on her final legs, was brought to the Wild at Heart Rescue in Mississippi one day. The poor animal was alone when she was hit by a car and suffered a serious brain injury.
Missy Dubuisson, the rescue’s founder, remarked, “The fact that this bird has lived is beyond imagination.”
She had a massive concussion, was parasite-infested, and had aspergillosis, a fungal infection that is akin to pneumonia in people. She was so sick that she dropped a pound of weight during her therapy, which was roughly 20-50 percent of her total weight.
The owl was so thankful to Doug, her savior, that when he returned after a trip, she couldn’t stop embracing him.
Douglas “Doug” Pojeky, popularly known as the “birds of prey whisperer,” would have been the best person to look for Gigi. If it hadn’t been for Doug, there’s a good chance that recovery would not have been possible.
Keep an eye on Doug the bird whisperer as he feeds the injured GiGi:
GiGi couldn’t conceal her joy when Doug returned from a trip to see his family. She began to dance and couldn’t take her hands off him. “Watching him connect with these birds literally brings tears to my eyes,” Dubuisson added. “They are completely familiar with him and have complete faith in him.” It’s the look of trust on her face.”
