Dog Dumped Along With Her Teddy Bear Gets A New Dad Who’d Never Abandon Her

Ellie, a one-year-old Blue Lacy, was raised by her family near Dallas, Texas, until they decided they didn’t want her anymore.
They dropped her at the shelter with her teddy bear, and she just sat there clutching to it, oblivious to what was happening, according to ilovemydogsomuch.tv.

Just months before abandoning her, the family went to the bother of getting her spayed, microchipped, and all of her necessary vaccines. She was now alone in a noisy and frightening shelter that euthanizes for space when necessary.

Ellie, on the other hand, wouldn’t be there for long. Jennifer Jessup, a New York City-based independent dog rescuer, discovered the dog after conducting an online search. She then called her Florida-based brother, who had been seeking for a Blue Lacy puppy to adopt.

Jennifer’s friend went to pick up Ellie and take her to a boarding facility where she could double-check the papers and give the dog a wash. Ellie went to a foster home after spending the night there until she could be transported to Florida. She was happier in her own home, but she still clung to her teddy bear.

Ellie hunched up in terror even as the foster family attempted to photograph her without her teddy. She grasped the toy when it was returned to her, as if she didn’t want to lose it again.

The day has finally arrived for Ellie to meet her new father! TWD Transport picked up the beautiful girl in Texas and delivered her to Florida.
After a long journey, the puppy was exhausted, but Dad planned to spend the entire day with her to make her feel at home. After a life of instability, it would take some time for her to completely settle in.

Jennifer knew deep down this was the perfect place for the dog and her teddy bear, and it really showed!

Ellie greatly calmed down and started to relax after receiving lots of love and attention from a new owner who’d never even think of dumping her the way her former one did. Here’s to a brand new beginning!
