Woman Breaks Up Eagles Locked In Intense Battle.
|A pair of eagles locked in an intense fight got a helping hand thanks to a raptor specialist with OWL Orphaned Wildlife in Surrey, British Columbia. Earlier this week, OWL received a call about two eagles that had become entangled during combat and fallen in a homeowner’s yard.
“We received a call one morning about two Bald Eagles locked in a fight. On arrival, we attempted to scare them apart, which usually does work, but not in this case,” OWL wrote. “Neither would let go and continued to argue, so we had to pry apart each talon.”
The birds refused to let go, making that difficult.

They had grabbed each other’s legs. The rescuer had to patiently and calmly try and break up the fight. Thankfully, she is unafraid of their sharp beaks, but after trying to pry them apart in one place she moved to a more open area and finally managed to separate the birds!
As the video explains, the two birds were protecting their nesting area. “During the separation, we decided to try to release the less injured bird in case he had a nest nearby,” OWL explained. “He flew away awkwardly into the path of an unsuspecting scooterist, luckily both were uninjured and went on their ways.” That’s reassuring to know, given how the video cut off. As for the injured bird (his injury was close to his eye), he was brought into their facility to recover. He stayed there for over a week “until he healed and made a successful release to the wild.”
